need help syncing our discogs inventory with lightspeed pos before record store day
Category: Web Development
Budget: 800–800 USDC
Hi everyone, I own a small independent used record store called Groove Needle. This is my first time posting a job on here so please bear with me if I mess up any technical terms.
Right now when a customer buys a rare original pressing at the shop counter, my staff rings it up on our Lightspeed Retail POS. But that exact same album is also listed for sale on our online Discogs seller account. For the past year we have literally been keeping an iPad next to the register and manually opening Discogs to delete the listing by hand every time a record sells in person. On busy weekends we constantly forget.
Record Store Day is coming up next month on April 20th, and last year we had 14 different instances where an album sold in the shop and then someone bought it on Discogs two hours later. Refunding angry collectors and taking hits to our seller rating was awful, so I really need this automated before the rush this year.
I tried setting up a Zapier bridge myself two weekends ago, but I kept getting rate limit errors from the Discogs API, and Zapier couldn't map our custom Lightspeed SKU barcodes back to the Discogs release listing IDs and condition grading notes (VG+, NM, etc).
I need someone to build a reliable script or background connection so that when Lightspeed registers a completed sale, it immediately unlists or zeros out that specific inventory item on Discogs. Please let me know how you'd set this up.
