simple android app for my mobile sharpening van (replace spiral notebook)

Category: Mobile Development

Budget: 1600–1600 USDC

Hi, I run a mobile knife and scissor sharpening van servicing local restaurant kitchens, fabric shops, and home cooks. Right now I track every drop-off in a spiral notebook, but water and honing oil get on the pages, phone numbers smear, and I almost mixed up two sets of Japanese chef knives last week.

I need a very basic app for my phone (I use a Samsung Galaxy S21) so I can log orders at my workbench inside the van without messy paper. Restaurant Week starts next month and I can't afford any order mix-ups during the rush.

I have never hired a developer before, so please let me know what you need from me to get this built.

Deliverables:

  • Simple order intake screen (customer name, phone, item count, sharpening notes)
  • Quick camera button to snap a photo of the drop-off bin tag
  • Status toggle (Received, On Bench, Ready)
  • One-tap button that sends an automated text to the customer saying their blades are ready
  • Offline saving so it doesn't crash when I am parked in service alleys with poor cell signal

Skills required

  • Android App Development
  • Mobile App Development
  • Flutter
  • SMS Gateway
  • Local Database

Milestones are funded into USDC escrow on Polygon before work begins.
